32 rare number plates will be sold in an online auction this September, including the highly sought-after plates 10 and 98!

The online auction will go live at 12pm on Wednesday, 10 September 2025. You will have until 7pm on Monday, 22 September 2025 to bid.
The auction will be run by third-party auctioneer Slattery Auctions and Valuations.
What you need to know
All numeric plates sold will have ‘Class Specific Rights’. This provides owners long-term rights to their plate. This means the plate:
- can be transferred to vehicles registered in the same name
- sold to a third party.
Anyone can purchase the rights to a numeric plate. However, they can only be placed on a vehicle registered in South Australia.
To enter into a number plate agreement, the purchaser must be established in the South Australian Registration and Licencing database.
