Koala state number plates are specially made to support South Australian wildlife.
Koala state number plates fit all vehicles, and $50 from each plate sold goes towards a wildlife fund. Learn about how this initiative is supporting animal rescue groups.
Koala state number plates are regular-sized and issued between KLA000 to KLZ999.

How do I order Koala State Plates?
You can order your plate online or in person.
To order your plates in person, go to any Service SA Customer Service Centre and you can collect your plates immediately.
If you order online, you can have them mailed to you for a $20 postage fee or collect them from a nominated Service SA Customer Service Centre.
Prices
Koala state number plates have a one-off fee of $151.
Fee breakdown:
- $70 plate fee
- $50 towards a wildlife fund
- $31 reallocation fee to change plates on an existing vehicle.
The Department for Environment and Water will distribute $50 to support wildlife rescue and rehabilitation in South Australia.
Combination options
- Plates are issued in sequential order from KLA000 to KLZ999.
- Plates cannot be customised.
